The Complexity of Space Missions, by Loran Joly

When we think of our ventures into outer space, we think of the Apollo missions.

Have we thought of the immense COMPLEXITY of space travel?

Consider the words of this physicist, in talking of the difficulty of PHYSICS, which space travel depends heavily upon.

He says physics is so hard because it so depends upon MATHEMATICS:

“Why Physics Is Hard”:

Now, space missions utilize not only Mathematics and Physics, but COMPUTERS, too, to deal with the immense complexities involved:

“How Computers Revolutionized Space Travel”:

“As computers have gotten more powerful, they’ve completely transformed how we explore the solar system. And along the way, the space industry has given computer science a boost too.”

“The Four Computers That Flew Humans To The Moon”:

“Computers were essential to navigating the Apollo spacecraft to the moon, they were some of the first computers that needed to be small and compact, at least by the standards of the computers of the day. Apollo spacecraft carried 4 onboard computers at launch: Launch Vehicle Digital Computer on the Saturn V Apollo Guidance Computer on the Command Module Apollo Guidance Computer on the Lunar Module Abort Guidance System on the Lunar Module.”

“On July 16th, 1959, Apollo 11 launched from Cape Kennedy on its way to becoming the first manned spacecraft to land on the moon. Aboard were Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin – the three brave men who made the historic journey. On 20 July, Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the Moon and Aldrin joined him on the lunar surface soon after. The Moon walk lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours while the pair collected lunar samples and conducted experiments.”

“Hear Buzz Aldrin tell the story of the first Moon landing”:

Now, inasmuch as space missions are so very complex, can we imagine the difficulties of traveling on INNER SPACE missions, as STEVIE WONDER surely did?

Is not the topic of LOVE, and seeking to grow in it, a SPACE TRAVEL, in complexity?

I was born in Detroit, in a not-so-deluxe area, to put it lightly. I attended an all-black kindergarten.

In 2007, I visited the music studio where Stevie Wonder made his music recordings – at Motown.

So, his music makes my happiness “Sing”…
